If you discover injured or orphaned wildlife, please call the Wildlife Rescue League's
Hotline at (703) 440-0800. You will then be directed to one of our principals or to
another area rehabilitator who specializes in that species. Note that many baby
animals are not true orphans. Often, the parents are nearby and watching. If you are
not sure if the animal is a true orphan, then please call us for advice.
If you have a non-emergency wildlife problem or have a question about local wildlife, then us.
Our first responsibility is to the animals in our care but when time permits, we can come
to your house to try to solve a wildlife problem. There is never any charge for this
service. If you would like to receive our monthly e-mail newsletter, just request it when
you contact us.
Like other non-profits, we depend upon the public for donations to sustain our operations.
Taking in over 700 animals a year is an expensive proposition. The different species have
their own special formula, food and caging requirements. Some animals will be with us for
a few weeks and others for many months. Some will require expensive vet care and drugs.
